Our
History: |
From
our beginnings in the 1860s, we have been putting our
students first. Miami-Jacobs has built a reputation on
helping our students achieve a better life through a
new career – a career that suits them and their goals.
Our programs
are "first to market": we develop new programs of study (and
refresh current ones) according to market demand. And the
results have become obvious: not only are our students
motivated, highly trained and reliable, many employers seek us
out to hire our graduates year after year.
These factors
all work to the advantage of Miami-Jacobs students. These are
the reasons that Miami-Jacobs has been, and continues to be, in
the heart of the Dayton area. If history is the mirror of the
future, then future generations of Miami-Jacobs students have
much to look forward to. |
|
Core Purpose: |
Miami-Jacobs Career College's purpose is to improve the quality
of life for the region it serves by developing a competent and
educated workforce for career positions in demand. |
|
Mission &
Philosophy:
|

in demand and to have all of our graduates find jobs reaching
their career potential.

making change happen. We listen, we ask questions and we focus
on helping you find the program and schedule that fits your
life and your goals. Our support is here for you every step of
the way also you can continue to manage your responsibilities
and schedule - in other words, your life. |
|
The Value of
Career Training: |
Many people feel that their best option
after high school is to go to a four-year college or university and earn a bachelor's degree. While this isn't a bad plan, there may be a better option. A career
training school can offer many benefits that a four-year school can't, and is often a more logical choice.
When someone graduates from a four-year school, they get a degree and are ready to look
for a job. The only problem is that they don't know where to start, their college doesn't offer job placement. They don't have any of the practical skills that most
employers are looking for, and they were never prepared for what a career was going to be like.
How can a career training school help you get around this? There are many different ways
that a career training school, or technical college, will better prepare you for the real world.
Practical Classes - The reason that technical schools can offer a shorter degree
program is because they don't require you to take general education classes, the ones where you learn the same things that you did in high school.
Career Programs - Career colleges offer you classes where you actually learn how
to perform a job, instead of just giving you a general idea. They offer hands-on experience, the kind that employers look for.
Job Placement - A career college will make sure that you're prepared to get a job
and keep that job when you graduate. They can give you the skills to step into your career immediately, without much on-the-job training.
Variety - Career colleges offer degrees in a wide variety of programs, many of
which aren't even available at four-year schools.
Personalized Programs - A career training school will custom-build a career
program for you. They will work with your schedule, help you with employment, help you with financial aid; some will even assist you in finding childcare if you need
it.
Time - Career colleges can help you earn a degree in a significantly shorter
period of time so that you spend less time in the classroom, and more time getting a job and earning a salary.
Career colleges are geared toward making sure that you succeed in the "real world." Their
main goal is to get you trained and into a good-paying job. The degrees are practical, and they will ensure that you have all of the skills you need to succeed in the
job that you want to do. If the thought of going to a four-year college, only to graduate and be unsure what you're going to do next scares you, consider a more
practical alternative; consider a career college. |

Medical
Assisting Program Accreditation
Miami-Jacobs Career
College is excited to announce that the Medical Assisting Program has received a

and surpass the expectations of our students and employers. The accreditation
