April 4, 2008
Dear valued partner,
With some recent media
attention on the college, I want to take a moment to reassure you that
our healthcare programs are operating in accordance with all regulatory
requirements.
Our mission is to
provide students with the comprehensive experience they need to support
our local healthcare organizations with highly skilled and compassionate
care. As a result, our top priority is to ensure each of our programs is
in compliance and good standing with all requirements.
- Miami-Jacobs Career
College is accredited through the Accrediting Council for Independent
Colleges and Schools and approved by the State Board of Career Colleges
and Schools.
- The Ohio Board of
Nursing granted the Practical Nursing program at Miami-Jacobs Career
College Conditional Approval. Conditional Approval is the standard
approval level for all new Nursing programs.
- CAAHEP (the
Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs),
accredits our Surgical Technology and Medical Assisting programs.
- The State Board of
Respiratory Care has approved the Respiratory Therapy program. CoARC
(the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) has granted the
Respiratory Care program at Miami-Jacobs Career College a Letter of
Review. The Letter of Review is the status of all new Respiratory
Therapy programs until a site visit has been completed. We have a site
visit scheduled for summer 2008.
- The State Medical
Board has approved the Massage Therapy program.
- The State Dental
Board has approved the Radiology Class within the Dental Assisting
program.
Just as important as
the technical skills required, we take great care in coaching our
students on compassionate bedside manner as part of our curriculum. As
you know, the demand for quality healthcare professionals is growing and
we want our graduates to not only have the knowledge and technical
skills needed, but also the soft skills – the communications skills – in
order to deliver compassionate care to our community.
Miami-Jacobs is a place
where students can shine and improve their job readiness. I want to
thank you, as a valued partner, for your continued support of our
programs and students, and your dedication to make our community a
better place.
I appreciate the
opportunity to serve each of you and look forward to working with you
into the future.
If you ever have any
questions, please contact me at any time at 937-461-5174.
Sincerely,

Darlene Waite President
